Liz Westbrook (she/her) is a dancer and choreographer originally from New Hampshire. She is pursuing a BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts, and currently interns with the Vermont Dance Alliance, and formally with Mark Morris Dance Group. Her training includes: Martha Graham School, Mark Morris Dance Center, Downstage Centre for the Arts, Bennington College, and University of the Arts. She is grateful for this opportunity to make a dance piece for this project with LAFT!
Her piece tells a transformative story of a woman who struggles with her traumatic past, all told through dance.
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness for those affected by mental illness.
Vermont Dance Alliance believes that dance is a transformational art form. By providing a network of resources for dance artists and educational opportunities for movers and audiences, they expand the visibility and accessibility of dance in Vermont and bolster the creative economy of the state.
